Bhubaneswar, Mar 29: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that a cyclonic circulation is lying over Odisha and neighbourhood.
"A cyclonic circulation lies over Odisha & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level," IMD Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said.
Meanwhile, the IMD predicted widespread rainfall activity accompanied by thunderstorms with lightning at many places in Odisha during the next two days. It also issued a yellow weather warning for several districts of the State during the period.
The IMD’s weather forecast for Odisha during the next two days is as follows:
Day 1 (Valid Upto 8.30 AM of May 30)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Gajapati.
Yellow Warning (To be updated)
Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of May 30 to 8.30 AM of May 31)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.
Yellow Warning (To be updated)
Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
