Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: In a significant step toward the holistic development of Jharsuguda city, Odisha’s Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, held a strategic discussion with local MLA Tankadhar Tripathy.

 

The meeting focused on preparing a long-term urban master plan that envisions Jharsuguda as a modern, well-planned city over the next 50 years.

 

Tripathy emphasized that the blueprint aims to transform Jharsuguda into a beautiful and expansive urban centre. The plan includes infrastructure upgrades, smart city features, and sustainable development strategies.

 

The presence of Odisha’s second airport in Jharsuguda adds to the city’s strategic importance, and the development plan seeks to capitalize on this asset to position Jharsuguda as a major urban hub.

 

The meeting was attended by Minister Mahapatra and senior departmental officials, who discussed the necessary steps to elevate the city’s status. The conversation revolved around identifying key areas for improvement, including transportation, housing, sanitation, and public amenities.

 

Minister Mahapatra stated that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is committed to accelerating urbanization across Odisha, and Jharsuguda is a priority in this mission. He assured that all proposals presented during the meeting would be thoroughly reviewed and implemented swiftly. The minister also promised that work on the new urban initiatives would begin soon.
