Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday was celebrated across Odisha on Wednesday with a wave of public service campaigns, mass tree plantations, and cultural tributes. The Odisha government planted more than one crore saplings as a mark of the state's gratitude towards the Prime Minister. From universities to temples, the state witnessed enthusiastic participation from leaders, students, and citizens in honouring PM Modi.


Governor Leads Cleanliness Drive
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das participated in a Swachhata Abhiyan at Rama Devi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar. Joined by students and faculty, the Governor personally cleaned parts of the campus and planted 75 saplings, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection.


CM Launches ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a plantation drive at Ekamra College, Bhubaneswar, under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign. The initiative aims to plant 7.5 crore saplings statewide, with the CM urging citizens to protect Mother Earth and contribute to a greener Odisha. He also joined a Swachh Bharat event at Master Canteen Square.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s Tribute
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan planted trees at the Sainik School in Sambalpur and paid tribute to martyrs on the occasion of PM Modi’s 75 birthday. He called on citizens to honour Mother Earth just as they honour their mothers, linking environmental stewardship with national service.


The Minister inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by BJP’s youth wing in Sambalpur. He also participated in a Garib Kalyan Sammelan, distributing benefits to over 11,000 beneficiaries under 20 welfare schemes.


Cultural and Spiritual Homage
Across Odisha, BJP leaders and devotees offered prayers for PM Modi’s long life. At Puri’s Jagannath Temple, a special lamp-lighting ceremony was held, and the Patitapaban Bana was tied to the temple’s Nilachakra. Similar rituals were observed at Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam and Charchika Temple in Banki. Over 500 lamps were lit at the Chamoj Jagannath Temple in Jaleswar.
